A preface to the video: I’ve always experienced that taking nootropics in smaller quantities per chemical has been better in the end. I get way better results with the right dose, as opposed to a high dose. And I suspect other people are the same way.

When we think about the nootropics that have the capacity to cross the blood brain barrier really effectively, it becomes at least somewhat obvious that too much of a particular chemical can lead to side effects. Your body regulates certain chemicals for good reasons.

Nootropics discussed

In this video, we talk about Uridine Monophosphate, an extremely powerful nootropic, and CDP Choline. I make the points that both of these nootropics in particular quantities work extremely well (not to mention synergistically when taken together), but taken in excess, can yield unwanted side effects (tiredness, depression, over stimulation). See the Longecity post below on CDP Choline. It’s reported to have a half life of 4-5 days, and a user on the post implies 250MG is too high of a dose. I have confirmed that this is the case for me. I stick with 25-100MG.

Another compound we discuss is Huperzine A. This is a smart drug to be really cautious of. It doesn’t mean don’t take it, ever, it just means mind your quantities and start at the smallest doses possible before taking it to the extremes. I’d personally suggest something like 20-30MCG (micrograms not milligrams) to start.
